I might be concerned what the engine heat will eventual do to the plastic extractor. Since you drove it without issue ,the extractor(which I assume is plastic), jammed in the dipstick tube is not interfering with any moving parts, You might want to try getting really long threaded rod that you could self thread into the inside of the plastic tube.Perhaps use a very small amount of WD 40 ? Once you have it threaded significantly into the extractor, tube, you should be able to pull out the extractor tube if the rod has not expanded the tube significantly You can try it on the piece of the tube which did come out. Right now, all you have done is made the dipstick unusable. I would think that when hot,the metal dipstick tube will expand more than a plastic extractor tube and when hot ,may make it easier to remove with threaded rod(Home depot or Lowes).Good luck,Worst case scenario is removing the oil pan. Since the extractor tube and the dipstick tube are 2 different materials they will expand at different rates. Out of curiosity, what brand of extractor? My Snap-On has been great. I read about a coat hanger to retrieve it but wouldn't that push it further in?Bummer, gotta be careful removing the tube. Rather just play it safe.Īll feedback is welcome, ready to get flamed too. How screwed am I? Think it'll melt? Get stuck in the pan? I can't even afford to have a mechanic take the pan off at the moment. Then of course with my luck I had to drive right after for an emergency (dont wanna talk about it). Tried removing it while twisting with force and it freaking broke off! Now I got like 8inches of pvc hose stuck in my dipstick hole.

We stuck it in too deep and then it got stuck. Was changing oil and used my neighbor's oil extractor to suck out the old oil. So long story short, bought a B8 S4 with all the funds I have to my name. Long time lurker but finally made an acc because I cant search my situation.
